> Festive Asparagus (Microwave Cooking)
Serves 4-8
1 Large TERINEX LOOK OVEN BAG 35cmx43cm (13½ x 16½ inches)
Ingredients
1tbls all purpose flour (plain flour)
150ml (5fl oz ) water
2 cloves garlic finely minced 1.8kg(2lbs) fresh asparagus, with tough stalks trimmed
1 medium red bell pepper, seeded and cut into thin strips
8 large mushrooms sliced
2 tbls butter or margarine
Method
- Put the TERINEX LOOK OVEN BAG in a microwave dish. Put flour, water and garlic into a dish or jug and mix well then add to the oven bag.
- Put asparagus in the bag along with the red pepper strips and mushrooms. Arrange neatly. Dot with the butter or margarine.
- Close bag and cut 6x2cm (½inch) slits into the top of the bag. Microwave for 9-11 minutes or until asparagus is tender. This may take less time depending on your microwave. To test - stop half-way through and using the tip of a knife try the asparagus.
- To serve: Remove from bag and transfer the vegetables to a thoroughly warmed dish. Spoon over the sauce.
